Paulo Gazzaniga expands the roster of white-and-red goalkeepers

The player arrives on loan from Fulham.

Paulo Gazzaniga has today become Girona's new goalkeeper after the Club and Fulham reached an agreement for the player's transfer.

The goalkeeper, born in the Argentinian town of Murphy 30 years ago, played his first football games at Club Atlético Las Palmas, in the Argentinian city of Córdoba. In the summer of 2009 he arrived in Europe and did so in the youth team of Valencia. In 2011 he left the Túria club and signed for Gillingham, who at that time played in the English League Two. Thanks to his good role defending the Gills' goal, he was linked for four seasons with Southampton, who had been promoted to the Premier League that year. In the summer of 2016, the English team transferred him to Rayo Vallecano where he performed a very good season that made it possible for him to be signed by Tottenham, which was managed by Mauricio Pochettino, with whom he had already worked as a coach at Southampton. At the beginning of 2021 he will return to Spanish football, specifically at Elche, where he will be there for one season. After this transfer, he left Spurs and signed for Fulham.

Among other notable competitions, Gazzaniga has played 43 games in the Premier League, 5 in the Champions League and 32 in LaLiga SmartBank. He has also been an absolute international with the Argentine national team.
