Oriol Romeu, godfather of the new Cruyff Court in Lloret de Mar

The Ulldecona midfielder is optimistic ahead of Sunday's game against Real Sociedad

Girona FC player Oriol Romeu was today the godfather of the new Cruyff Court in Lloret de Mar. The Cruyff Courts are small free-use football pitches to promote sport among children and young people and, through this activity, instill values such as responsibility, personal improvement, integration, team play and education in healthy habits, to avoid sedentary lifestyles and prevent childhood obesity. The one in Lloret is the second installation of these characteristics in the Girona region. There is another one in Banyoles. The event was attended by Susila Cruyff, president of the Cruyff Foundation, Pati Roura, director of the Cruyff Foundation and Jaume Dulsat, mayor of Lloret de Mar.
The Ulldecona midfielder was very excited to be the godfather of this new field since "my beginnings were in a small town with different conditions and we had to deal with shoes or bottles to make the goalposts. Here it's amazing. The priority is to enjoy with passion. If you get the most out of it and take advantage of the time invested, the result doesn't matter", said Romeu, who threw penalties with the children of two local schools who took part in the inauguration.
As far as sports news is concerned, Romeu has explained that the team will face Real Sociedad, Girona's next rival. "The current line of work is the one we must continue to maintain. If we continue like this the results will improve. Real Sociedad is a strong opponent, we know that it is a very intense team. We will have to match its intensity to be able to get something positive out of it. We are a team that wants to compete against everyone, that's what we've shown. We want to continue to be brave and play good football. Now it will be good to recover the players who have been out. This will give more options to the coach and better performance to the team".
