Elche, new Copa del Rey rival

Girona will face Elche in the Copa del Rey 16 final match. The clash will take place at the Martínez Valero stadium on 6 or 7 January (date and time to be confirmed).

There are 32 teams taking part in this tie, including the four Super Cup participants (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Osasuna and Atlético de Madrid).

This is the third round of the Copa del Rey 2023-2024 in which the 'blanc-i-vermells' will participate. In the first round, Michel's men beat San Roque de Lepe 1-2 with goals from Valery and Savinho. In the second, against Orihuela, the team won 2-5 with goals from Pablo Torre, Stuani (2), Portu and Valery.
