Van de Beek joins Girona until 2028

Donny Van de Beek will be a new Girona FC player for the next four seasons. The Club and Manchester United have reached a transfer agreement for the Dutch midfielder.

Van de Beek was born in April 1997 in Nijkerkerveen in the Netherlands.  He started playing for his hometown team Veensche Boys and then, in the summer of 2014, he joined the Ajax academy and became one of the most outstanding talents in the club's academy.

This quality led him to make his debut in 2015 with the Jong Ajax, and two months later he was called up to the first team for the match against Den Haag in the Eredivise (Dutch first division). Shortly afterwards, he won the Talent of the Future award, which had previously been given to such quality players as Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder, Christian Eriksen and his future dressing room partner Daley Blind.

Van de Beek made his first-team debut in November 2015 in a Europa League match against Celtic and established himself the following season, playing 29 games and reaching the Europa League final. The 17-18 season saw him make his debut for the Dutch senior team. The following year, Ajax, with Van de Beek in the starting line-up, became one of the best European teams, reaching the Champions League semi-final.

In September 2020, Van de Beek was transferred to Manchester United. He made 62 appearances for the Red Devils before being loaned out to Eintracht Frankfurt last season.

The new red and white player is a very talented midfielder who stands out for his vision, ability to score goals and his ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates. He is also a versatile player who can adapt to different positions.
