That it doesn't stop!
The team came from behind at the Sadar believing in their idea until the end, and they have a licence to dream after taking 31 of the first 36 points
Another match to remember for Girona, who continue to shine at the start of the league and don't want to set any limits. The red and whites are living a dream, and not just because of the results, but also because of how they are achieved. Today, personality and demand marked a match in which the team imposed its football in many moments, and was also able to overcome difficult phases. Ten wins and a draw in twelve games, record figures that place Girona at the top of the Primera División with 31 points.
Míchel Sánchez's men came into the game very well and managed to impose themselves on the ball and threaten the area with danger. Yangel Herrera opened the scoring with the first clear chance of the game, but his header went just over the top of the crossbar. In the next, Girona made no mistake, and Ivan Martin finished off an excellently orchestrated transition with a header into the back of the net. Girona were managing to impose their style against a demanding team and on a difficult pitch, and although the home side equalised shortly afterwards in an isolated action, the Girona side went into the changing rooms with the pride of having dominated and subdued the Navarrese side.
The home side took the lead at the restart, who had the best minutes of the game and found the second goal. What should be emphasised, however, is that in a very unfavourable context, Míchel Sánchez's men were able to react and get up once again in the face of adversity. With twenty minutes to go, Dovbyk had the faith and conviction to attack a cross from Miguel Guitiérrez at the far post and found the equaliser. The Ukrainian connection brought a smile back to Girona's face, who kept believing and kept going forward in search of victory until Tsygankov came up with the third goal. Aleix García completed the scoring in stoppage time by chasing a bouncing ball in front of the goalmouth and converted a wonderful goal to seal the game.
Next week, Míchel's men will visit another very demanding venue, Vallecas, with the aim of continuing to enjoy a dream momentum. In the meantime, it's time to enjoy the historic moment the club is experiencing.
