Ladislav Krejčí, signed for 5 seasons
The 25-year-old centre-back arrives from Sparta Prague and will play in the European Championship with the Czech Republic national team.
Czech international Ladislav Krejčí, 25, will strengthen Girona's defensive axis for the next five seasons. The player, who arrives from Sparta Prague, has committed to the Club until 30 June 2029. He is currently training with his national team, with whom he will play in the European Championship.
Krejčí, 1.91 metres tall, is a left-footed centre-back who stands out for his corpulence and his absolute mastery of aerial play, both in defence and attack (many of the goals he has scored have been headers). Since his professional career he has played 219 games and scored 51 goals. Last season he scored 11 goals in 39 games. He has experience of European competition, having played in the Europa League with Sparta Prague.
Despite his height, he is quite agile and has a remarkable technical ability to bring the ball out from the back and filter deep passes. These are qualities that Krejčí, who can also play in midfield as a pivot or centre midfielder, combines with strength in the tackle and aggressiveness in the melee.
The new Girona player is one of the stars of his country and leader of the Czech national team of which he is the captain. He has seven caps for the senior national team. Previously, he had been capped at all youth levels.
Born in Rosice, in the Brno-Country district of the Czech Republic, Ladislav Krejčí trained at FC Zbrojovka Brno. At this club he made his professional debut in 2016. Three years later he signed for Sparta Prague, where he comes from.
