The team tours the city to celebrate qualification for the Champions League with a dedicated fan base that has filled the streets.
Girona has dressed up to pay tribute to the heroes who have taken us to the Champions League. Players and coaches travelled around the city in an open-top bus on a memorable afternoon shared with the fans, who dyed the streets red and white to bid farewell to a historic year in the best possible way.
Plaça del Vi, full to welcome our heroes
The parade started at the Estadi de Montilivi and made its way through the city until it reached the Plaça del Vi. There, the Cor Geriona began by playing the Champions League anthem and, later, from the balcony of the Town Hall, some of the first team players addressed the fans, who were totally devoted.
"It is a very special day, because we have achieved something very big. We all deserve to be able to play in the Champions League next year," said captain Cristhian Stuani. Portu reminisced about seven years ago, when he stood on the same balcony to celebrate the first promotion to the Primera División: "I said we would go to the Champions League, and here we are!
End of the party in La Copa
The party continued at La Copa, where, during the afternoon, "Les que Faltaband", Els Catarres and Món Dj played. The crowd was able to enjoy the relaxed speeches of all the players on stage and the music in an evening to enjoy all that has been achieved during a season that will go down in history as the best in the 93 years of the club's existence. Around 30,000 people took part in both the rúa and the after-party.
