Statement on attendance at Girona-Feyenoord
Regarding the attendance of spectators at yesterday's match at the stadium, the Club would like to inform and remind you that:
The capacity of Montilivi for Champions League matches, following UEFA regulations, is 9.721 people. Of this total, 6.000 are for members, 1.300 for UEFA, 1.500 for the Club, 700 for the away team and 221 for the media.
Attendance: 8.752
In yesterday's match against Feyenoord, the total attendance was 8.752.
All of the 6.000 members' tickets were sold to people who had been allocated tickets in the draw and, subsequently, to other members who had not been allocated tickets in their first choice. In addition, almost a thousand tickets were released by UEFA and were also allocated to our Members, making a final total of 6.850 tickets. The rest were released at the last minute and for this reason it was not possible to achieve the complete sale of this package. At the start of the match, 112 tickets remained on sale.
Tickets for the Dutch club
Of the 700 tickets given to Feyenoord, 500 were in the Visitor's Zone and the remaining 200 were distributed by the Dutch club among club commitments. These 200 were located in the lower tier, following UEFA regulations.
On the other hand, all tickets for the match were nominal tickets except for UEFA sponsors.
The Club also detected more than 130 tickets from resale that were not allowed access to the stadium. Girona will take whatever action it deems appropriate to sanction this behaviour.
In the final count, the 500 people with allocated tickets who were not allowed access to Montilivi must be taken into account.
High risk match
The Club also regrets the inconvenience caused to the fans at the access controls and the delays they caused in gaining access to the stadium. It should be borne in mind that this match was declared a high-risk match by the Anti-Violence Commission and that the aim of these controls was to guarantee the safety of the public present at Montilivi and that there were no away fans in the home section.
Another fact that makes quick access to Montilivi difficult is the number of turnstiles. Girona has repeatedly asked LaLiga to extend these entry systems to the stadium. Unfortunately, LaLiga does not authorise it, claiming that it is determined by the capacity of Montilivi.
