Club and player agree to extend Dutch defender's contract for one more season
Girona FC and Daley Blind have reached an agreement to extend the Dutch defender's contract for one more season, until June 2026. With 33 appearances this season, Blind has been a fundamental part of the team to which he has contributed his experience, quality and versatility on the pitch. A fixture in the centre of defence, he is the fifth most used player by Míchel Sánchez in league matches, behind Gazzaniga, Aleix Garcia, Miguel and Sávio. He has also demonstrated his goalscoring prowess, with three goals this season.
With the extension of Daley Blind's contract, Girona FC guarantees the continuity of a versatile player who, at 34 years of age, has extensive experience at some of the most prestigious clubs on the continent, such as Ajax, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
